As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) at Black Hound Aviation, you will play a critical role in training and mentoring aspiring pilots to achieve their aviation goals. You will provide high-quality flight and ground instruction tailored to individual student needs, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and the school’s curriculum standards.You will guide students through the fundamentals of flight, aerodynamics, navigation, and safety procedures while fostering a professional and supportive learning environment. This role demands a commitment to safety, enthusiasm for teaching, and a passion for aviation.Key Responsibilities:-Conduct one-on-one flight training in accordance with Part 61 FAA regulations.-Provide ground school instruction, including aerodynamics, regulations, weather, and navigation.-Develop personalized lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to suit student learning styles and progress.-Conduct pre-flight and post-flight briefings to reinforce lessons and evaluate student performance.-Prepare students for FAA written, oral, and practical exams, ensuring a strong foundation in theoretical and practical skills.-Maintain accurate and detailed training records for all assigned students.-Ensure all training activities are conducted in compliance with safety protocols and FAA regulations.-Conduct flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks, and other specialized training as required.-Participate in instructor meetings, training events, and continuous professional development to stay current with industry standards and best practices. Qualifications:-Must hold a current FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate.-Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, procedures, and airspace requirements.-Excellent communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills.-Ability to effectively assess and adapt to students' learning needs and progress.-Commitment to safety and professionalism in all aspects of flight instruction.Preferred Qualifications:-Instrument Instructor (CFII) rating is preferred, but not required.-Two years prior experience teaching as a CFI.-Familiarity with Part 61 training environments and methods.-Experience conducting scenario-based training and risk management exercises.
