SkillBridge Internship – Logistics Support (PMA-257 AV-8B Harrier Sundown)Location: Patuxent River, MDDuration: 4-6 MonthsCompany: Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology (Ataero)Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance preferredAbout the Role:Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology is seeking a transitioning service member to train and support PMA-257 in its efforts to sundown the AV-8B Harrier program. This SkillBridge internship provides hands-on experience in DoD aviation logistics, sustainment planning, and program closeout activities at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, MD.The intern will work alongside experienced logistics and program management professionals, gaining valuable insight into Naval Aviation program lifecycle management, divestiture strategy, and transition planning.

About the Role:Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology is seeking a transitioning service member to train and support PMA-257 in its efforts to sundown the AV-8B Harrier program. This SkillBridge internship provides hands-on experience in DoD aviation logistics, sustainment planning, and program closeout activities at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, MD.The intern will work alongside experienced logistics and program management professionals, gaining valuable insight into Naval Aviation program lifecycle management, divestiture strategy, and transition planning.Responsibilities:Train, provide OJT and assist in logistics planning and execution for the AV-8B Harrier program’s sundown phaseSupport the inventory management, asset disposition, and sustainment strategyCoordinate with NAVSUP, DLA, and fleet support teams to ensure efficient material handling and distributionAssist in technical data archiving, contract closeout support, and legacy system phase-outContribute to Sundown Plan development and implementation, including tracking milestonesProvide administrative and technical support to the Integrated Product Team (IPT)Participate in cross-functional meetings with program stakeholdersAssist in developing reports, presentations, and briefings related to logistics and sustainmentPreferred Qualifications:Background in aviation maintenance, logistics, or supply chain managementExperience working with Naval Aviation logistics systems (e.g., NALCOMIS, DPAS, R-Supply, FEDLOG, etc.)Familiarity with DoD supply chain policies, processes, and equipment dispositionStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Eligibility Requirements:Active-duty service member approved for DoD SkillBridge participationAbility to work on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MDMust be within 180 days of separation/retirement from military serviceWhy Join Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology?Gain hands-on defense logistics and program management experienceWork directly with Naval Aviation professionals and government stakeholdersBuild a strong transition path into the defense contracting sectorDevelop skills applicable to careers in logistics, sustainment, and acquisitionIf you are a transitioning service member interested in gaining logistics and program management experience supporting Naval Aviation, this SkillBridge opportunity at Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology is the perfect fit!To Apply: Send your resume and SkillBridge eligibility documentation to [Insert Contact Information
