To provide opportunities for learning outside the military settings. The internship and training received will expose the service members to new tasks and help them learn specific skills in the Resin Manufacturing industry. Our internship program will also give the service members experience with equipment, people and projects that may relate to their future career goals. This will be a 12 week training program which will equal to 576 hours. The training which will take place from Monday through Thursdays will be 12 hours each day. Training will consist of Certified Instructor classroom training, Certified Instructor led on the job training, Competency Assessment Exams each week. Each objective level will provide the Service Member the training and hands on experience to perform capacity planning, standard cost analysis and the ability to improve the production process and product quality.
Job description:
The Process Technician is responsible for working safely and for all quality, setup, production, efficiency, productivity, equipment maintenance for the entire facility. The process technician is responsible for ensuring the equipment for either the front half or back half of the plant is operating per the standards for each machine. The Process Technician must be able to start, changeover and operate all the extrusion machines in their half of the plant. Read, comprehend, and follow all specifications in the job folder. Complete all required paperwork (pallet slips, job folders, any special customer requirements, and/or any other forms as assigned by the shift supervisor). Ability to start, changeover and operate all equipment for either the front half or back half of the plant. Use color/additive feeders. Insert J-knife, tube slitter assemblies, slitter knives, and any other “accessory” related type cutting tools required for the job. Setup and take trim. Set up print presses, maintain, and clean print presses. Knowledge of the mixing operation and the impact various components in the formula will have on the extrusion / film process. Ability to operate all aspects of the mixing operation. Working knowledge of all benders in the plant, including ability to program the blends. Knowledge of the silos, their operation and the material in them. Able to operate any production line in P1 facility including accessory equipment such as Pelletizer or Munchy. Operate lines, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc., to ensure a quality product and production rates. Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as through the use of micrometers and record product and process parameters. Complete all necessary paperwork as required, giving particular attention to product weights and scrap. Package product according to instructions. Keep extrusion lines, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and orderly. Use lifting equipment and fork trucks on a regular basis. Forklift certified. Set up gussets and A-frames. Able to give and receive instructions in a professional mannerBasic Skills: Cut plastic from cores using a utility knife and wearing proper PPE. Cut cores using a table saw. Maintain a clean environment in all areas of the facility. Using the correct sized pallet, stacking finished goods on the pallet, and wrapping and labeling a finished pallet per customer specifications. Inspect for quality per specification sheet. They must be attentive and self-motivated. Read and comprehend a standard US English tape measure. Perform other duties as required and assigned by shift supervisor or facility management.
