This internship at North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP) will provide service members with hands-on experience across multiple departments, including Airport Operations, Ground/Facility Maintenance, Project Development, Accounting, and Property Management. Interns will assist with a variety of tasks, gaining practical skills in each of these areas that can help prepare them for civilian careers post-service.
Job description:
The Internship will include work directly with airport staff within several departments to include economic development, airport operations, and project development. in these roles, the intern will participate in airport duties under CFR Part 139. This will include Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting tasks, airfield inspections, and airport maintenance. Working under the Airport Director, the intern will participate in project management roles for active and upcoming construction projects. duties will include assisting with schedules, airfield safety and access, and inspections. Additionally, the intern will participate in capital planning, project design, and consultant procurement. Other roles include lease reviews, fee structuring, finance, and facility contract management.
