Explore the mapThe State of Nevada Engineering Technician I–III SkillBridge Internship provides transitioning service members with structured, hands-on exposure to technical engineering work in public-sector environments. Participants may gain experience in engineering calculations, construction inspection, surveying, materials and soils testing, computer-aided drafting, technical data collection, project documentation, equipment operation, technical research, and review of plans and specifications. Training progresses from foundational orientation and supervised participation toward increasingly independent technical engineering assignments.
Engineering Technicians perform technical engineering support work in both office and field environments. Duties may include conducting engineering calculations, reviewing plans and specifications, assisting with surveying and field measurements, inspecting construction activities, performing materials and soils testing, preparing technical documentation, collecting and analyzing engineering data, operating technical equipment, and supporting engineers and project teams. The Engineering Technician I–III series progresses from trainee-level assignments toward journey-level technical work requiring greater independence, accuracy, and responsibility.
