Moffitt Cancer Center Company is a non-profit organization located in Tampa Florida. The applicant will work at Moffitt Cancer Center in an administrative position. The position falls under the authority of the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Director and is answerable to the same. The purpose of this position is to generate experience in Project Management and Process Improvement skills in a not-for-profit health care environment. Moffitt Cancer Center will provide opportunities for the applicant to experience how a civilian workplace functions, as well as, how to utilize skills that the applicant has learned in certification courses and formal education. The intention of this position is to allow the applicant to get valuable hands-on experience in project management, while also being treated as an extended interview to determine whether or not a full-time position will be offered at the end of the program (if available).
Job description:
The applicant’s role at Moffitt Cancer Center will be as a Project Manager Intern. Throughout the duration of the internship, the applicant will be working with departments of the organization, as well as with organization leadership, to help move projects successfully through different lifecycles of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor and Closing. Moffitt Cancer Center believes this will give the applicant a unique opportunity to be a part of an organization wide project and process overhaul that will utilize the entire scope of the member’s skillset and experience. By seeing how an organization handles a multi-department projects, as well as, how each department operates, the applicant will acquire ninety days of valuable Project Management experience.
