Job description:
GS-1102 is the General Schedule (GS) occupational series for Contract Specialists, who are responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of federal contracts, from solicitation and negotiation to administration and termination. These professionals work to procure supplies, services, and construction for the government, ensuring compliance with regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and meeting socioeconomic goals, such as those for small businesses. MARMC Procures and administers private contracted ship repair in Hampton Roads.
Members will build individual business and negotiation skills working in a technical, industrial environment, while becoming familiar with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Navy Marine Corps Acquisition Regulation Supplement (NMCARS), and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Contract Handbook (NCH).
