The position is a skills training position which will prepare participants for a career as a certified law enforcement officer in the State of Missouri. Successful applicants will enter a 21 week training period during which they will study legal aspects of law enforcement, defensive tactics, firearms training, law enforcement vehicle operations, de-escalation tactics, investigative skills, interpersonal skills, and much more. At the conclusion of the program, participants will complete the Missouri Peace Officer Licensing Exam (MPOLE) which will enable them to seek employment as a full time law enforcement officer in Missouri. Participants will also have opportunities for job shadowing, interview/oral board practice sessions, and recruitment fairs.
Students will be responsible for providing their own range ammunition, pricing of which fluctuates with market trends. Students may also use the Missouri BLUE scholarship or GI Bill/OJT Benefits with this employer.
