Job description:
The purpose of this internship is to provide service members with meaningful professional development, mentorship, and training experience that supports developing your work experience to be competitive for future positions. The positions within State Parks would be in park operations, with jobs such as: management, interpretation/education, administration, human resources, maintenance, resource management and protection, etc. The positions within HR include shadowing and learning skills within the various areas of Human Resources, which include Classification and Recruitment, Personnel and Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Training and Organizational Development, HR Project Management Team, and the Agency Volunteer Program.The position of Fish and Wildlife Technician would provide service members with meaningful professional development, mentorship, and training experience that supports developing your work experience in conservation. The positions that are within Wildlife, Inland Fisheries, and Coastal Fisheries include Fish and Wildlife Technicians, Biologists, and Natural Resource Technicians. Areas of work can be in the field, within fish hatcheries, or in Wildlife Management Areas.
Locations will vary based on division and program. There are 89 state parks, 50 wildlife management area's, and the main headquarters located in Austin, TX. All opportunities will be varied based on availability of staff, location, and other internships.
