Summary description:
National Warrior Workforce has created a training program to train and certify individuals looking to start an infrastructure career. Training includes in-person instruction in Oceanside, CA as well as online Safety Training Requirements. DOL approved courses will be taught with cooperation of the California Department of Workforce Development, and under the provisions of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprentice Program (TIRAP). All trainees will earn the required OSHA, DOT, and Red Cross certifications prior to being placed in an On-The-Job learning environment for hands-on work leading into a paid apprenticeship position. Follow-on employment assistance will be provided through our various employment partners, including Verizon, Mainstream Fiber Networks, AmeriCrew, MotiveIS and more.
Job description:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to install fiber optic cables and/or splice fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings, read, create and maintain construction diagrams, taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes and support project timelines. Following the 4 weeks of training, successful graduates will be paired with an industry partner for OJT and Apprenticeship for the remainder of time in the program.
Opportunity is open to all service members, transitioning members up to 90-days post transition, and Veterans, with limitations based on the amount of elapsed time since separationNo cost to participate, may use GI Bill or VR&E if conditions require

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent. Hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Willing to complete and pass a Drug Screening. Ability to work in various environments and conditions. Be able to regularly bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
