This position is an Information Security Officer within the Office of Information Security, ensuring compliance and maintaining an enterprise information security program. In this position the incumbent will have the knowledge and skill in applying, information technology (IT) concepts, principles, methods, and practices; IT security principles and methods; and requirements analysis principles and methods sufficient to serve as an information security officer in technical assessment, policy, and governance and as a key team member in ensuring compliance and maintaining an information security program.

Information Technology Specialist GS-2210 (INFOSEC) The incumbent will develop skills to interpret and apply policies, directives, and guidelines applicable to information security and cyber security, such as the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA), Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, and others sufficient to ensure compliance with information security policies, Federal laws and regulations; to ensure information security objectives are commensurate with the mission and business by coordinating information needs with security directives; and to develop or recommend proposed implementing policies, directives, and guidelines.
