Job description:
Iowa Veterans Home Registered Nurse - The Nurse is an Associate Nurse for residents in assigned coverage area for each shift worked. She/heis responsible to assure that plans of care are followed as prescribed and/or changes are implementedand communicated as appropriate. He/she also identifies the need for and suggests changes to theplans of care. The Nurse responds appropriately to episodic and emergent needs.The Nurse assesses, communicates and documents acute and/or daily resident needs or issues. He/Sheperforms professional nursing work on an ongoing basis including licensed treatments, administrationof medications and resident care. The Nurse provides daily direct professional nursing care to residents and clinical leadership anddirection to nursing staff. He/She attends report daily to direct daily staff assignments and workloaddistribution. He/She will participate in daily care delivery at the bedside.

Upon successful completion of SkillBridge program, offer them full-time, part-time or temp employment. IVH offers many opportunities to grow. IVH would like a commitment to take a full-time, part-time or temp position after completion of the SkillBridge program. Temporary transitional housing is available on the Iowa Veterans Home Campus.  The Iowa Veterans Home (IVH) is able to accommodate less than 120 days as orientation for the RN position usually takes 30 to 60 days. IVH would be able to accommodate any period up to the full 180 days then if applicant successfully completes orientation be offered a full-time, part-time or temp position. Applicants must be able to pass background check and get a TB test.
