This position involves supporting the Instructor team with daily instruction for students at Advanced ATC, Inc. Academy. The assistant instructor will aid in teaching essential attitudes, skills, and subject matter crucial for students’ development as responsible and competent Air Traffic Control (ATC) professionals. By providing guidance and assistance, the assistant instructor plays a vital role in enhancing the learning experience and ensuring students acquire the knowledge necessary for success in the field. This collaborative effort contributes to cultivating the next generation of skilled ATC professionals equipped to handle the demands of air traffic management effectively.

The Assistant Instructor will be responsible for several key areas of instruction and support. In Table Top Instruction, the role includes continuing training on the basic principles learned in Course 1000 and Course 2000, facilitating "Red Book" (Part One) instruction, and educating students on Valdosta Tower strip marking procedures. The instructor will practice Clearance Delivery, Ground Control, and Local Control phraseology in accordance with FAA Order 7110.65 (Current Edition) and Valdosta Tower Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Additionally, they will conduct basic simulations using model aircraft and vehicles, document daily activities and ATC subjects on AATC Form 3001 (7-22), and provide feedback on student performance to the Instructor team.As a Remote Pilot Operator (RPO), the Assistant Instructor will perform RPO duties in the 65 Sim room as needed, assist the Instructor team with RPO training, and document any specific simulation issues on the "Simulation Events Report" sheet for necessary attention.In the capacity of an Assistant Simulation Instructor, the role involves supporting daily instruction for students, organizing reference materials and notes for pre/post-simulation briefings, answering student questions when possible, and referring more complex inquiries to the Instructor team. Feedback on student performance will also be provided.General duties include maintaining a clean and organized work area in all training rooms, simulator rooms, and breakrooms, ensuring that no food or liquids are near computers, simulators, or ATC training materials. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
