Participants will receive hands-on exposure to police operations, community engagement, operational support, and other aspects of municipal law enforcement while learning about the requirements and career opportunities associated with becoming a Greensboro Police Officer.
The City of Greensboro Police Department SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with an immersive introduction to municipal law enforcement and the role of a Police Officer. Participants will receive hands-on, on-the-job training and observational experience across multiple areas of police operations.Training may include rotations through Patrol/Alternative Operations, Community Engagement, Operational Support, and other appropriate areas of the department. Participants will learn about police procedures, community-oriented policing, professional standards, public safety operations, and the expectations associated with a career in municipal law enforcement.The program is designed to provide transitioning service members with meaningful experience and exposure to the Police Officer career field while allowing them to learn about prospective employment opportunities with the City of Greensboro. Participation in the SkillBridge program does not guarantee employment.
