The program is divided into 30-day phases designed to build proficiency in identifying, pursuing, and managing government contract opportunities across agencies such as the Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, NOAA, and other federal organizations.The ideal candidate may not need an aerospace or engineering background but should bring strong business acumen, analytical skills, and a desire to learn federal acquisition and proposal management practices. The training roadmap focuses on opportunity scanning, partner engagement, capability negotiation, and proposal participation while providing opportunities for cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams supporting NASA and NOAA systems.
Job description:
Training Objectives:• Learn to identify and qualify federal contract opportunities aligned with company capabilities.• Gain exposure to government acquisition lifecycles and procurement portals (SAM.gov, NASA SEWP, etc.).• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop capture strategies and teaming arrangements.• Support proposal development processes, including shaping requirements and participating in color team reviews.• Engage in outreach to potential partners, subcontractors, and federal contacts.• Assist in reviewing technical documentation or liaising with systems/software engineering teams supporting NASA and NOAA projects when applicable.• Optional Extension: Involvement in systems or software engineering support tasks related to NASA/NOAA missions.Desired Qualifications:• Active-duty military service member eligible for SkillBridge participation.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, management, or a related field.• Strong communication, research, and organizational skills.• Interest in federal contracting, business development, or program management.• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
Outcome: Upon completion of this SkillBridge program, the trainee will possess foundational knowledge of federal contracting processes and hands-on experience in business development, preparing them for potential full-time employment as a Capture Manager or Business Development Associate in the aerospace and government contracting industries.Please email the POC with your resume attached if interested.
