Overview of the ProgramEnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is a specialty division of EnerSys (EnerSys is the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications). EAS specializes in energy solutions for aerospace/defense and medical industries. (https://www.enersys.com/en/industries/aerospace-defense/). We are growing and looking for individuals that share a common interest in the aerospace/defense/medical industry and want to work in this exciting environment. The purpose of this internship is to provide transitioning military service members with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to begin full time employment as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. Interns will participate in a comprehensive 120 day training program onsite in Pinellas Park, FL.Training SpecificsOn the Job Training: The training program is designed to provide interns with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to transition into full time employment with EnerSys. Interns will receive a combination of hands on, on-site training as well as classroom style and computer based training. Interns who demonstrate satisfactory completion of training objectives and receive positive performance reviews can expect to be offered full time employment at one of EnerSys’s facilities as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. Training objectives include:· General Safety and Industry Standards: Follow all prescribed safety practices and industry standards when performing work assignments.· External Resources Management: Works with subcontractors to complete building and equipment maintenance tasks· Manage Working Environment Conditions: Maintain operating conditions of buildings and equipment and complete all repairs.· Preventative Maintenance: Use preventative maintenance scheduling software to perform and/or ensure regularly scheduled equipment maintenance.· Knowledge of interpreting Drawings: Follow blueprints, schematics and drawings in the diagnosis and repair of equipment.· General Trades Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, and cooling skills· General Mechanical Trade Knowledge: Repairs and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.Professional Development: To enable all candidates to have long term, successful post-military careers, RecruitMilitary provides employment skill training and professional development coaching for all participating interns. This portion of the program includes participation in professional development seminars, close work with assigned mentors and practicalapplications to ensure all interns are armed with the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to develop and manage a successful civilian career after military service. Developmental topics include:· Creating resumes targeted to specific opportunities in specific fields of employment.· Leveraging social media to effectively network in the digital environment for career success.· Development of a coherent personal brand to effectively market the intern to potential employers.· Use of digital and online tools for targeted job searches and networking.· Development of skills necessary to secure, prepare for and succeed at job interviews and subsequent salary negotiations.Facilities Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities· Follow all prescribed safety practices and industry standards when performing work assignments· Works with subcontractors to complete building and equipment maintenance tasks· Maintain operating conditions of buildings and equipment, and complete all repairs· Use preventative maintenance scheduling software to perform and/or ensure regularly scheduled equipment maintenance· Follow blueprints, schematics and drawings in the diagnosis and repair of equipment· Utilize knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating and cooling skills· Repairs and maintains heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems· Performs diagnosis, repairs and maintains equipment by performing electrical/electronic/mechanical work· Installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, machinery or other electrical devices by performing electrical work at a journeyman level· Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems and fixturesSkills, Requirements, & Qualifications
