Summary description:
National Warrior Workforce has created a training program to train and certify individuals looking to start an infrastructure career. Training includes in-person instruction on the campus of Vincennes University. DOL approved courses will be taught with cooperation of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and under the provisions of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprentice Program (TIRAP). All trainees will earn the required OSHA, DOT, and Red Cross certifications prior to being placed in an On-The-Job learning environment for hands-on work leading into a paid apprenticeship position. Follow-on employment assistance will be provided through our various employment partners, including Verizon, Mainstream Fiber Networks, AmeriCrew, and more.
Job description:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to install fiber optic cables and/or splice fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings, read, create and maintain construction diagrams, taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes and support project timelines.
Training will include OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 level courses, Red Cross CPR/AED certifications, Drone familiarization, and more. 60 day on-the-job learning (OJL) will also be provided. Training will include fiber splicing, drop and bury, direction bore drill, and residential fiber installation.

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.Hold a valid driver's license.Willing to complete Drug Screening.Ability to work in various environments and conditions.Be able to regularly bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
