DoW SkillBridge InternshipLogistics Management Specialist (GS-11/12) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Office of International Affairs (INA)LOCATIONWashington, D.C.IMPORTANT NOTEThis opportunity is OUTSIDE of USAJOBS and ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates who are AT LEAST 11 months AWAY from military separation to be considered and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active-duty.WHY 11 MONTHS?CBP can host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.DutiesThe Logistics Management Specialist (GS-11/12) performs work in planning for small and large purchases, provides oversight for ordering, receiving, transferring, excessing, reutilization, repairing, and retiring of various types of property. Identifies issues and works to provide resolution. The intern works with higher graded employees with CBP wireless accounts. Incumbent trains to become a purchase card holder, reviews requests and ensures funding is available.The intern works with higher-graded employees with providing local agency direction and facilitates the creating, accepting, modifying, and transferring of personal property records in accordance with CBP and INA directives. Coordinates activities to sub-office support staff, provides responses on problem definitions, policies and procedures and works with in evaluating and applying the content of new or modified regulations for projected impact upon CBP programs.
