The candidate will serve in the Office of the Chief People Officer, Employee Relations (ER) Branch as an Employee Relations Specialist, assisting the division in performing the full range of ER and 508 Accessibility Compliance duties for the Office of Administration and other components of the Executive Office of the President (EOP).
Job description:
ER seeks individuals who have experience, and are interested in supporting a wide range of ER and 508 Accessibility Compliance at the EOP campus. All ER experience will be considered, but specifically seeking expertise and assistance to employees and managers on areas of responsibility that includes but is not limited to conduct, performance, attendance, grievance procedures, reasonable accommodation (RA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP), and dispute resolution. Ability to independently conduct both broad and in-depth research on employee relations issues and incorporate research results to form recommendations for action. Compose proposal and decision letters to implement disciplinary and adverse actions while ensuring that employees are afforded appropriate due process rights. Ability to process FMLA applications and VLTP applications and donations. Receive, analyze, and process RA requests taking into consideration the needs of the organization and the needs of the employee and make recommendations to management regarding the disposition of requests. Provide advice and assistance to employees and managers on the RA process and serve as one of the RA Program Managers. Assist and support the random drug testing program coordinator as required.

Pre-employment drug test; eligibility for TS clearance. U.S. Citizen, minimum 18 years of age, and must meet at least one of the following criteria: Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four-year institution) and have completed two semesters before the internship start date. Have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two- or four- year institution) no more than two years before the internship program start date. Are a veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty for any length of time in the two years preceding the internship program start date.
