SkillBridge Opportunity – Job DutiesThe SkillBridge Program at Consolidated Paving & Concrete prepares transitioning service members for careers in construction management, heavy equipment operation, or CDL driving by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and industry-relevant skills. Participants will gain practical experience in job site operations, project coordination, and safety compliance while working alongside experienced professionals.Job Duties by Track:Construction Management TrackAssist in on-site project management, including scheduling and coordination.Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.Monitor site safety and compliance, enforcing OSHA and company standards.Track project progress, maintain records, and assist with reporting.Gain experience with budgeting, cost control, and contract management.Heavy Equipment Operation TrackOperate and maintain heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, and dozers.Assist in site preparation, grading, and excavation.Safely handle and transport construction materials.Follow safety protocols for heavy equipment operation and conduct daily inspections.CDL Training TrackComplete classroom instruction on CDL regulations and requirements.Gain hands-on driving experience with commercial vehicles.Conduct vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure roadworthiness.Learn and adhere to DOT safety regulations and compliance standards.General Responsibilities (All Tracks):Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times.Attend daily briefings and team meetings to discuss progress and tasks.Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and skills acquired.Participate in professional development workshops on leadership, resume building, and job readiness.By completing this program, participants will gain industry-recognized skills and credentials, positioning them for full-time careers in construction management, heavy equipment operation, or commercial driving.
The fee for obtaining or renewing a commercial Class A, B, or C license, as well as for an original or renewal of a provisional commercial Class A or B license, when taking the written test, is $52.00.
