Summary description:
Position Overview:Infinite Energy Construction is accepting applications for a SkillBridge Internship for aspiring construction professionals to gain valuable exposure to the general construction industry, mission critical performance environments and business process to the benefit of the applicant and to provide a structured opportunity to join our team as Superintendent/PM in a full time capacity (after military transition). This position will support a multi-year IDIQ contract at Joint Base Charleston or Fort Irwin, CA - by assisting IEC’s Project Management and Superintendent staff throughout the entire life cycle of assigned construction projects. This position will be primarily (75%) field bases with some office responsibilities.
Job description:
The Superintendent/PM SkillBridge Intern will gain valuable experience by performing key elements of the construction management process which include:o Track costs and labor for assigned projects at project handoff from pre-construction to active construction.o Work with field leadership to ensure on-time/budget projects by managing construction schedules, construction environments, and processing paperwork per the Company and Government standards/requirements.o Utilize Company software to execute routine administrative deliverables.o Understand the contractual paperwork and contractual limits of authority and responsibility for IEC, the Government and Trade Partners. Learn how to apply accountability for internal and external stakeholders.o Manage/manipulate submittals and shop drawings for assigned projects for compliance with project deliverable and client requirements.o Gain exposure to monthly progress billing reports and close out documentationo Assist in obtaining quotes from vendors in a timely manner• Field Management Duties include:o Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractorso Coordinate and work with subcontracts to ensure quality workmanship and on time/budget project completion o Coordinates and supervises construction activities on and off baseo Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of worko Assist with the preparation and maintenance of construction, manpower, and other scheduleso Prepare, maintain and track necessary paperwork: submittals, change orders, daily reports, o Assist with project close out

Due to the physical demands of this role, applicants should be able to endure the physical demands of being outside (in respective elements of heat, wind, cold), entering and exiting vehicles, lifting objects such as ladders, safety barriers, accessing the truck beds, sitting at desks and entering information into computer. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
