Summary description:
The purpose of a regulatory affairs specialist-Entry Level is to assist in developing technical recommendations to ensure nuclear safety and regulatory compliance for NRC licensees. Employees in this role will become familiar with various Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) processes in order to achieve the best possible regulatory outcomes. Employees will develop an understanding of the technical and regulatory basis to ensure the correct NRC processes are applied to a given situation. Individuals participate in the development of solutions to ensure full regulatory compliance, by applying appropriate engineering principles, selecting areas for investigation, and communicating findings to senior plant management. To the company, this position is of utmost importance. The regulatory affairs specialist-entry level assists in making sure our nuclear energy facilities are safe and maintain compliance with NRC requirements and avoid where possible penalties, fines or possible shutdown.
Job description:
Compliance- Assists in the following areas of compliance:• Monitors compliance guidelines and processes for our clients’ plants• Assesses issues/events for NRC response and reportability• LER Prep/Submittal• Responding to NRC Inspection Reports• Perform Inspection Interface Activities• Significance Determination Process Evaluations• NRC Performance Indicator Management• Evaluating Issues in accordance with NRC’s Reactor Oversight Action MatrixLicensing- Assists with all of the following to gain knowledge:• Monitoring licenses so they are up to date and valid• Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) Updating• Developing and Processing Enforcement Discretion Requests• Evaluating and Processing Licensing Basis changes and other reg changes• Performing 50.59 Evaluations and Processing Annual Reports• Preparing, Submitting, and Processing License Amendment Requests• Developing and Processing Changes to the Plant’s Tech Requirements manualCommunications Representative-Assists plant managers with all correspondences with: • Processing incoming/outbound correspondence-NRC, State Agencies• Correspondence Preparation/Submittal Technical Liaison- Assists with questions and technical operations in the areas of:• Participating in NRC Interactions• Developing Regulatory Positions/White Papers
NAS JRB Fort Worth is a possible housing location with base commanders approval. Located 2 miles from Corporate HQ and training facility.
