The Senior Document Control Specialist administers complex document control, records management, and engineering change activities within a regulated defense environment. This role reviews, routes, publishes, distributes, and archives controlled technical documents while ensuring revision accuracy, approval completeness, traceability, and compliance with company, customer, contract, and quality requirements. The specialist manages Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices, tracks approval workflows, supports contract data submissions, resolves document discrepancies, and coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Contracts, Program Management, and Field Operations. The position also supports audits, develops user training, provides system guidance, and identifies opportunities to improve document accuracy, cycle time, and process compliance.

Job description:

The Senior Document Control Specialist administers complex document control, records management, and engineering change activities within a regulated defense environment. This role reviews, routes, publishes, distributes, and archives controlled technical documents while ensuring revision accuracy, approval completeness, traceability, and compliance with company, customer, contract, and quality requirements. The specialist manages Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices, tracks approval workflows, supports contract data submissions, resolves document discrepancies, and coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Contracts, Program Management, and Field Operations. The position also supports audits, develops user training, provides system guidance, and identifies opportunities to improve document accuracy, cycle time, and process compliance. Program duration and training scope may be expanded or condensed based on participant experience, qualifications, and transition timeline. Due to DoW requirements, candidates must be US citizens. Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals

Eligibility factors:

Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force
High school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, engineering support, quality, or a related field preferred. Several years of document control, configuration management, records management, technical publications, or engineering change experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another regulated environment is expected. Strong knowledge of revision control, approval workflows, retention requirements, controlled distribution, and audit readiness is required. Experience with document management, PLM, ERP, or change-control systems is preferred. The role requires excellent attention to detail, written communication, organization, follow-up, customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and train users on procedures and systems.
