Why 11 months? We are able to host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR actions to include getting them in front of hiring managers, having interviews conducted, selection decisions being made, “Qualifications Reviews” successfully completed on their resumes clearly demonstrating that they have the required experience, etc. for the positions for which they are being considered, along with a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MAJOR DUTIESResponsible for the day-to-day management of fleet program to include overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles. Manages fleet records by creating, accepting, and transferring Agency fleet records. Conducts the processing of damaged vehicles and subsequent repairs, and the invoice reconciliation process. Conducts local records management and produces various fleet reports. Oversees the lost, stolen, destroyed, and missing property program. Manages inventories, records management, and provides training in accordance with local and Agency directives. Conducts local records management and prepares various property reports. Manages the Border Patrol Academy property program to include coordinating with Office of Acquisition and the COR, purchasing, receiving, transferring, excessing, reutilization, repairing, disposal, asset refresh, and retiring of various types of property.
Job description:
MAJOR DUTIES Performs tasks associated with creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approval. Acquires materials through the Purchase Card program, within delegated authority. Coordinates advanced logistics planning for items costing more than delegated levels by overseeing purchase requests, statements of work, sole source justifications, and assuring fund availability. Develops and recommends improvements in the logistics support processes and work methods. Leads teams and projects involved in redesigning, automating, and reengineering processes to meet the varied and changing requirements of Border Patrol Academy and satisfy the customers served.
