This internship will give participants the opportunity to learn claims adjusting skills that would be transferable to many different areas of the insurance industry. Participants in the internship will learn communication, computer, estimating, damage recognition, negotiation, and financial skills. During the internship participants will complete claims training courses and then will spend the first few weeks shadowing an adjuster. After a few weeks they will begin to take a small amount of claims and work these claims over the phone. As participants grow in experience, they will see an increase in claims load, until they are capable of performing all functions of the claims adjusting positions. To include, property, auto and casualty claims.
Job description:
The focus of this internship position is to lead to careers within the insurance industry. Participants will learn jobs in the claims adjusting focus of insurance. These skills are transferrable to other areas of the insurance industry as well. This position will allow the applicant to learn computer skills, communication skills, people skills and financial skills. All of these are transferable in todays job market.

Candidates need to have working knowledge of a computer and basic typing skills. The internship program will teach candidates all of the programs used within the computer.
