GENERAL SUMMARY The Safety Specialist supports the organization’s commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment by coordinating, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, training, and regulatory compliance across company facilities, job sites, and vehicles. This role works closely with Operations, Management, and Field personnel to promote safe work practices and reduce risk.Participants gain exposure to safety management practices within the construction industry, supporting healthcare, institutional, commercial, and higher education projects. The track emphasizes collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and field leadership to identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture that supports safe and successful project delivery. SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Coordinate and assist with the implementation of OSHA, MSHA, EPA, ANSI, DOT, and other applicable · · Federal, State, and Local safety standards, as well as company safety policies and programs, to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, job sites, facilities, and vehicles. · Maintain required company and customer safety records and reporting systems, including but not limited to OSHA logs, Avetta, ISNetworld, and EMCOR internal reporting systems. · Conduct safety training as part of New Hire Orientation and regulatory requirements. · Lead and facilitate safety meetings at company facilities and job sites on an ad hoc and regularly scheduled basis, including quarterly field training and annual administrative training. · Assist in the development and execution of general, specific, and specialized safety education and training programs as part of the company’s overall safety initiatives. · Assist with distributing job site–specific safety programs and general safety information to contractors, subcontractors, and customers. · Assist in the preparation and review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) when required. · Coordinate with Operations and Management personnel to procure and distribute safety equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). · Conduct jobsite, facility, and vehicle safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company safety programs and regulatory requirements. · Complete injury and accident documentation for affected employees and job sites within EMCOR’s internal tracking and reporting systems. · Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation and ensure appropriate access to all company personnel. · Develop an understanding of company service and installation quality standards and assist in communicating and reinforcing these standards during site safety inspections.SPECIFIC TASKS AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES include any/all the following: · Commit to ongoing growth and learning within logistics and construction operations. · Assist with material ordering, tracking, and delivery coordination across active projects. · Maintain accurate inventory and material logs. · Support warehouse operations, including staging, labeling, and distribution of materials. · Coordinate equipment availability, rentals, and returns. · Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues. · Support project teams by ensuring materials and equipment are available when needed. · Assist with logistics planning to minimize delays, waste, and excess costs. · Adhere to safety protocols related to material handling and transportation. · Assist in documenting logistics processes and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Participants will have the opportunity to complete OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction (if applicable), along with internal safety certifications and documented field competencies.
