    Job description:
    Class Title: PatrolmanCharacteristics of the class: Under general supervision, performs general duties in the enforcement of federal, state and local laws and ordinances. Duties as Patrolman: Patrols a designated area on foot or in vehicle to preserve, prevent and discover violations of the law. Maintains public safety and security. Delivers city council meeting packets to council members 24 hours prior to meeting. Responses to all complaints and calls from the public. Maintains and reports all his cases, citations and investigations to his supervisor within policy time limit. Enforce all state and federal laws. Responsible for completing duties of police. Maintains activity level as directed by supervisor. Complies with policy and procedures of the department. Qualifications of Patrolman:Approved and certified as police officer by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council or is a recruit enrolled in DOCJT by the department. Has extensive knowledge of federal, state and local laws and ordinances. Has knowledge of principles and practices or modern police operation as applied to field patrol activity, traffic control safety and criminal activity. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must in compliance with DOCJT training requirements.
