The Electric Power Generation Technician Trainee performs supervised preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and component service on Caterpillar generator sets. Training includes exposure to mechanical and electrical systems, safety procedures, technical documentation, and shop practices. Participants train approximately 40 hours per week alongside experienced EPG technicians. Training emphasizes safety, professionalism, technical skill development, and workplace readiness. Successful completion may lead to consideration for full-time employment following military separation, based on performance and business needs.
Training is full-time (~40 hours/week) and structured in progressive phases, including safety orientation, systems overview, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, applied service, and career readiness.
