The objective of our program is to ensure the intern gains practical experience implementing NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC security controls, administering Microsoft 365 GCC High environments, supporting secure IT operations, coordinating with external IT vendors, maintain compliance documentation, and to develop the technical and operational skills needed to support cybersecurity compliance, protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and contribute to the organization's readiness for CMMC assessments.
Job description:
As the Cybersecurity and Systems Administrator, you will be the primary, hands-on technical operator and compliance anchor for our corporate networks and federal regulatory standing. This is not an oversight or strategic advisory role; it is a direct execution role. You will take daily, direct ownership of implementing, configuring, and maintaining the security practices required by the NIST SP 800-171 framework and CMMC Level 2.While you will have access to external technical vendor support, you are the single point of failure and success for our internal controls. You will actively manage our Microsoft 365 GCC High tenant, configure access management policies, resolve or monitor day-to-day IT support tickets, and personally build the system configurations necessary to pass rigorous defense audits.

● Hands-On Technical Capability: Proven experience configuring operating systems, securing local network architectures, troubleshooting hardware, and administering enterprise IT environments.● M365 Environment Competency: Practical, hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (experience with GCC High or Azure Government is a massive plus, but commercial tenant experience with a willingness to learn government cloud restrictions is acceptable).● An Execution Mindset: Comfort with reading a technical framework requirement (like NIST SP 800-171) and turning it into a functional software or hardware configuration.● Clearance Eligibility: Ability to pass a corporate background check. An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is highly desirable due to our work with defense infrastructure.
