Summary description:
Duties & Responsibilities:Through this program, Oceaneering is seeking motivated Quality Inspector Interns to work and learn in our Marine Services Division (MSD) located in Chesapeake, VA. The successful candidate will participate in a practical, structured, systematic program of on-the-job training AND related instruction to develop existing military technical experience. Internship will be 6 – 24 weeks long and can only commence within 180 days before leaving active-duty service. Qualifications - Must meet all eligibility requirements outlined in applicable DoD and service specific instructions.- Official TAD/ TDY Orders to Oceaneering International, Inc. for the period of the internship.- Minimum of 5 years military experience performing SUBSAFE quality maintenance and/or inspections.- Must have basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.- Detail oriented and results driven.- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).- Must have the ability to obtain government base access.- Must have a Secret/Confidential security clearance.

Function:Enforce the Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure company production aligns with customer directives and specifications. Strong analytical skills are essential. Occasional travel and overtime may be required.Scope:Exercise independent judgment to implement company policies and procedures.Resolve issues impacting product quality, delivery, schedules, or costs through direct interaction with various stakeholders.Formulate methods and processes to enhance safety, quality, or production while reducing costs.Demonstrate self-motivation with excellent verbal and written communication skills, fostering effective interpersonal interactions with customers and company personnel.Duties & Responsibilities:Enforce an effective QA program complying with relevant manuals and guidance.Perform tasks outlined in the company QA Manual and higher-level authority guidance.Maintain personal QA training to support all aspects of production.Verify and document torquing evolutions, installation of new Level 1 material, and testing for REC Certification.Witness Controlled Assemblies documentation and update REC logs for assigned projects.Conduct effective Audits and Surveillances as assigned.Oversee the Calibration Program, ensuring the use of calibrated tools/equipment.Perform QA tasks related to SUBSAFE, DSS, DLSS, Level I, and other controlled work.Ensure accurate completion of QA forms, test documents, TGI, URO MRCs, and other forms of Objective Quality Evidence.Provide recommendations for process improvement and changes to the company Quality Program.Responsibilities When Working Offsite:Handle controlled material and stowage.Review TGIs for closing.Maintain Weld Rod Oven logs and inventory.Install changes and updates to TGIs and RECs.Conduct Audits and Surveillances on the project while maintaining a database of results.
