The County of San Mateo Human Resources Department seeks qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants who are interested in pursuing or continuing a career in the human resources field. The Talent Acquisition Division provides innovative, responsive, fair, and consistent recruitment and selection services to departments, employees, and job applicants to ensure the County employs, develops, and retains a qualified and diverse workforce that delivers essential services to the public. Assigned to work with a team of Talent Acquisition Analysts, the Human Resources Technician (HR Tech) will provide support for every aspect of the County's recruitment and selection activities including pre-recruitment planning meetings, test development, Civil Service examination administration, and processing new hires, promotions, and temporary appointments. Using the County's applicant tracking system (NEOGOV), the HR Tech will be responsible for monitoring recruitment and applicant activities for their assigned team and responding to inquiries from applicants. The candidate selected for this vacancy must be able to effectively coordinate multiple calendars and a variety of tasks and events. With as many as 93 active recruitments at a time, Talent Acquisition is a busy division, and is often an applicant's first experience with the County as an employer. The HR Tech must be a confident communicator who can effectively and appropriately represent the division and the County to the public.
