As a Maintenance Supervisor SkillBridge participant, you will gain hands-on experience leading maintenance operations supporting Boeing Dreamlifter Operations while developing the technical, leadership and business skills necessary for a successful transition into civilian management.Participants will work alongside experienced operational leaders and maintenance professionals to learn workforce planning, safety management, customer relations, maintenance scheduling, performance management, and operational oversight. This program provides valuable exposure to aviation maintenance operations, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) management, Boeing customer support and leadership development in a fast-paced airport environment.The program is designed to help transitioning service members leverage their military leadership and maintenance experience while preparing for future supervisory and management opportunities within the aviation industry.
Job description:
Key Responsibilities• Assist with supervising daily maintenance operations supporting Boeing Dreamlifter Operations. • Support technician scheduling, workforce planning, and labor allocation activities. • Monitor maintenance activities to ensure compliance with AES, Boeing, OSHA, and company safety standards. • Participate in daily operational planning meetings and shift turnover discussions. • Assist with managing equipment availability, fleet readiness, and maintenance priorities. • Review work orders, maintenance documentation, labor hours, and reporting for accuracy and completeness. • Support inventory management, parts coordination, and operational resource planning. • Participate in employee coaching, development, training, and performance management activities. • Assist with customer communication and operational coordination with Boeing representatives. • Monitor compliance with Tool Control, FOD Prevention, safety programs, and quality standards. • Generate and review operational reports, performance metrics, and KPI data. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and operational performance. • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.Successful completion of the SkillBridge program may provide participants with the opportunity to be considered for full-time employment with AES based on business needs, performance and available openings.
Alvest Equipment Services (AES) is a leading provider of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance, fleet management, rental and leasing services supporting airports, airlines and aviation customers throughout North America. This SkillBridge opportunity provides transitioning service members with hands-on leadership development, operational management experience and exposure to Boeing Dreamlifter Operations.Participants will work directly with experienced maintenance and operations leaders while developing the technical, supervisory and business skills necessary for a successful transition into civilian leadership roles. Successful completion of the program may provide participants with consideration for full-time employment opportunities based on business needs, performance and position availability.
Eligibility factors:
All Services
• Must be eligible to participate in the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program.• Must be within 180 days of military separation or retirement.Valid driver's license required.• Previous military experience in maintenance, transportation, aviation, logistics, fleet management, operations, or leadership roles preferred.• Ability to work in an industrial, airport, and outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.• Ability to lead personnel, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with customers and team members.• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn maintenance management software systems.• Must be able to meet all airport, customer, and Boeing site access requirements.• Must successfully complete Boeing's security screening process and any applicable badging requirements.
