Explore the mapThe Geospatial Infrastructure Analyst SkillBridge curriculum provides transitioning service members with supervised training in CISA regional operations, critical infrastructure analysis, geospatial analysis, infrastructure data analysis, and operational support. The participant will learn how CISA uses geospatial data, digital imagery, infrastructure databases, and ancillary sources to support regional situational awareness, preparedness, response, critical infrastructure resilience, and leadership decision-making.
The participant will receive exposure to research, data assessment, data integration, GIS/spatial analysis, infrastructure dependency analysis, operational support products, and written, visual, and oral communication of analytic findings. Experience with ESRI databases and software, including ArcGIS or related GIS tools, is preferred.

Activity: Geospatial Infrastructure Analyst
Length: 4-6 months

Prerequisites:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to research, assess, organize, and present information.
- Experience with geospatial, infrastructure, intelligence, engineering, operations, planning, emergency management, or related mission areas preferred.
- ESRI/ArcGIS experience preferred.
- Ability to commute to the Seattle, WA area office as required.
Relevant military occupational backgrounds may include Army 125D, 12Y, 35G; Air Force 1N1X1 or 1N1X1A; Navy EA, IS, OS; Coast Guard IS, OS; Marine Corps 0241, 0261, 0511, or 6800.
Description:
Courses and Activities:
1. CISA Mission and Regional Operations Orientation
Length: 1 week
Description: Orientation to CISA, Integrated Operations Division, Regional Operations, Region 10, critical infrastructure concepts, and workplace expectations.
2. Critical Infrastructure and Regional Risk Fundamentals
Length: 1 to 2 weeks
Description: Training on critical infrastructure, regional infrastructure priorities, dependencies, interdependencies, cascading effects, and infrastructure risk communication.
3. Geospatial Data and GIS Workflow Orientation
Length: 2 to 3 weeks
Description: Introduction to geospatial data, GIS workflows, digital imagery, infrastructure databases, spatial analysis, data quality, and visual product development.
4. Infrastructure Data Analysis and Product Development
Length: 2 to 4 weeks
Description: Supervised practice researching, assessing, integrating, manipulating, extracting, and analyzing infrastructure and geospatial data to identify trends, relationships, and analytic conclusions.
5. Operational Support and Regional Coordination
Length: 2 to 4 weeks
Description: Exposure to regional operational support functions, including preparedness, incident support, special event support, situational awareness, and briefing/reporting products.
6. Capstone Geospatial Infrastructure Analysis Project
Length: 4 to 6 weeks
Description: Participant completes a supervised capstone project integrating geospatial analysis, infrastructure data analysis, written communication, visual product development, and oral briefing skills.
Expected Deliverables:
- Data familiarization summary.
- Draft geospatial or visual product.
- Infrastructure dependency/interdependency analysis summary.
- Regional operational support product or briefing input.
- Final capstone geospatial infrastructure analysis product.
- Final oral or written briefing.
Evaluation:
Progress will be evaluated through mentor and supervisor observation, review of draft and final products, ability to apply feedback, analytic quality, timeliness, professionalism, and clarity of written, visual, and oral communication.

Terminal Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
- Describe CISA regional operations and how geospatial infrastructure analysis supports preparedness, response, and critical infrastructure resilience.
- Identify and use approved geospatial, infrastructure, digital imagery, and ancillary data sources under supervision.
- Conduct supervised research, assessment, integration, manipulation, extraction, and analysis of geospatial and infrastructure data.
- Apply GIS, spatial analysis, and infrastructure analysis concepts to characterize events, identify relationships and trends, infer conclusions, and communicate analytic significance.
- Develop draft written, visual, oral, or geospatial products for supervisory review.
- Explain infrastructure dependencies, interdependencies, single points of failure, and potential cascading effects.
- Support regional operational awareness through supervised analytic and operational support activities.
