Overview We have an opening for a Software Engineer C# Mapping - Senior Software Engineer with a minimum 10 years of software development experience. Specializing in cartographic and geometry-based programming to work out of the Winter Spring, FL office. The successful candidate will be part of our Software Development Team and will assist in maintaining, enhancing, and creating new features for our cloud-based SaaS platform and desktop application, working closely with our Software Engineers and the Water Resources Engineering Team. The candidate's initial primary focus will be learning and supporting the architecture of the existing codebase. Ultimately, the candidate will be optimizing the existing system and adding new features.

Their stormwater and flood forecasting models include complex mathematical models that simulate the rainfall-runoff process, drainage systems, flooding and flood forecasting, groundwater flow, water quality impacts, and green stormwater infrastructure. Their applications center around a geospatial graphical interface that utilizes aerial imagery, thematic-based polygon map layers, and terrain surfaces.

Responsibilities Develop and implement cartographic applications in C# and C++ Develop CAD-like interfaces for the graphical display of multi-dimensional cartographic applications. Develop geometry-based applications for Civil Engineering Analyze and document existing C# code and algorithms Optimize existing C# code for performance and efficiency Experience in writing applications with DirectX (managed or unmanaged) Collaborating with other engineers and data scientists Using version control systems (Git)
Qualifications A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geography, or a related field or demonstrated experience in building scientifically based software, preferably in the field of geometric application building. Minimum 10 years of software development experience. Industry knowledge of weather forecast systems, including experience with accessing these systems pro-grammatically a plus.
Skills: Strong proficiency in C# and C++, and .Net Proficiency in DirectX (and SlimDX a plus) Experience with GDAL a plus Solid understanding of geometry, mapping science, GIS, and geo-databases Experience with programming vector and raster display technologies Knowledge of mapping projection systems Proficient in developing Windows applications Knowledge of software development best practices Familiarity with parallel computing Familiarity with GPU programming is a plus Excellent communication and teamwork skills Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
