Heroes MAKE America - Logistics

Heroes MAKE America provides our participants with the skills and certifications to find and excel in careers in manufacturing. Our program is a combination of soft skills, on-line training, classroom instruction, and hands-on lab time. Participants who successfully complete the program receive the nationally portable, industry-recognized certifications. Our Service members participate in networking events and weekly tours of manufacturing companies to connect them to the influencers and career opportunities within those companies. Our program managers also facilitate introductions to manufacturers across the country based on participant preferred work locations. As a supplement, Heroes Connect: Military to Manufacturing is our program to facilitate virtual introductions with manufacturers who are hiring today. Heroes graduates have secured careers in a variety of roles such as production, maintenance, logistics, and operations.

Heroes MAKE America – Industrial Systems

Industrial systems is an emerging field that integrates electrical and mechanical engineering, advanced manufacturing and computer technology. This is a 10-week course of accelerated training where participants have the opportunity to earn 7 industry-recognized certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance in: C201 Electrical Systems, C202 Electric Motor Control Systems, C203 Variable Frequency Drive Systems, C206 Electrical System Installation, C207 Programmable Controller Systems, C209 Pneumatic Systems, C210 Mechanical Power Systems and a Heroes MAKE America and TSTC Certificate of Completion.

Heroes MAKE America – Manufacturing Operations (In-Person)

The Manufacturing Operations training provides participants with a strong foundation in four critical areas of the manufacturing industry: safety, quality practices and measurements, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness. This training, combined with the leadership, discipline, and technical skills gained through military service, prepares participants for a wide range of civilian career paths—from production and maintenance to operations and even human resources. Participants have the opportunity to earn six industry-recognized certifications and credentials, Heroes MAKE America certificate, along with 14 college credit hours and a Technical Certification from Washburn Tech, enhancing both their immediate employability and long-term career growth.

Heroes MAKE America: Airframe and Powerplant Certification

Graduates of the Heroes MAKE America Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) program are well-prepared to pursue a variety of careers in the aviation maintenance industry. Some examples of roles they may enter include Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT), Aviation Maintenance Technician, A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Technician, Aircraft Mechanic, and Maintenance Technician (Aviation). These positions involve inspecting, maintaining, and repairing aircraft to ensure they meet rigorous safety and performance standards. In addition to opportunities in aviation and aerospace, the A&P certifications are also highly valued across other segments of the manufacturing industry—such as maintenance roles in theme parks, where technicians are responsible for the safety and performance of complex systems like roller coasters and amusement rides. With FAA-recognized credentials and hands-on experience, our graduates are equipped to succeed in a wide range of technical maintenance careers.
