Instructional Aide Internship
This 180-day SkillBridge internship prepares transitioning service members for careers in education through a hands-on instructional aide role at an alternative high school serving at-risk youth. Interns will gain experience supporting classroom instruction, special education services, front office operations, and student engagement under the mentorship of certified teachers and administrators.The structured training includes weekly modules aligned to key education career competencies such as classroom management, lesson preparation, IEP support, small-group instruction, and school operations. Participants will receive professional development and also complete a capstone project that will help prepare interns determine and map out a career plan in teacher, school support, or school administration.
