Shop Technician
FluxWorks builds magnetic gears - drivetrain technology in which no gear teeth ever touch, so there is no oil and no wear surface. Our hardware goes into defense and space programs under announced Department of War contracts and into commercial robotics and industrial automation. This 61-90 day on-the-job training program places the Service member on the shop floor of a small Conroe, Texas manufacturer as an Electric Motor Shop Technician in training. Over twelve progressive modules the participant learns magnet safety and handling, precision measurement and inspection, rotor and stator assembly, gearbox build and alignment, instrumentation and data acquisition, dynamometer test operation, build documentation and traceability, quality and non-conformance handling, and shop safety and 5S.Training is hands-on and delivered by FluxWorks engineering and operations staff, with a written training plan, module-level learning objectives, and a grading rubric. The participant works alongside the team on hardware that actually ships. This is a shop role: on-site in Conroe every day, not hybrid and not remote. There is no cost to the Service member. FluxWorks is the training provider and the prospective employer.
