Job description:
An applicant is required to successfully complete a 20 week police training academy. Upon completion of the academy the applicant will be a duly sworn police officer with all necessary State certifications to enforce laws in the State of Louisiana.
The Shreveport Police Department is a large municipal police agency with over 500 sworn officers. The agency is dedicated to the service of the citizens of Shreveport and the enforcement of all State, Parish, and Municipal laws.

Applicant must apply for the Louisiana Civil Service Test for Police Officer. Applicant must receive a passing score of 75% or greater to start recruiting process. Applicant must successfully complete a background check, physical fitness test, and psychological and medical batteries. The applicant must successfully complete a 20 week police training academy.
