Iowa Veterans Home - CNA Program. The objective of this opportunity is to train service members preparing to depart as a CNA and upon successful completion of the SkillBridge program, offer them full-time, part-time or temporary employment. The best case scenario is if they complete the SkillBridge program take employment with IVH and continue on to purse LPN and/or RN.
Job description:
This opportunity is at the Iowa Veterans Home (IVH), where the SkillBridge users would be trained by IVH employees and earn a certified nursing aide (CNA) certification in Iowa. IVH would pay for this training which would help prepare them and secure them a position as an RTW (CNA) at IVH. IVH is the largest long-term nursing facility in the State of Iowa, where our sole mission is to serve veterans and their spouses.

IVH would like a commitment of one year of full or part time work from date of hire. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and get a TB test. Temporary transitional housing is available on the Iowa Veterans Home Campus. 1. IVH provides a full state benefits package for full-time employees. 2. IVH can provide housing on-site for up to 2 months while locating permanent housing. 3. IVH is located in Marshalltown that has a college that offers nursing programs. 4. Marshalltown and Marshal county are Homebase Iowa communities that offer different veteran incentives.5. IVH employees over 700 employees in various roles, so if you have a significant other IVH would encourage them to apply for openings as well.
