The Field Technician Apprentice(FTA) will spend most of the time in the field working with a licensed technician, but will also spend some time at 1Lift’s corporate office in Erie, CO studying codes and installation methods. There may also be projects where 1Lift needs “extra” hands to help with other specialty trade work like fire blocking where the FTA may be required to assist. A working knowledge in fire and electrical systems is a plus.

The Field Technician Apprentice(FTA) - The FTA will spend most of the time in the field working with a licensed technician, but will also spend some time at 1Lift’s corporate office in Erie, CO studying codes and installation methods. There may also be projects where 1Lift needs “extra” hands to help with other specialty trade work like fire blocking where the FTA may be required to assist. A working knowledge in fire and electrical systems is a plus. The areas of responsibility will include the following:· Fire Alarm Install – The FTA will assist in installing a range of fire alarm materials to support elevator recall functions. These materials can include smoke detectors, heat detectors, addressable modules and addressable interfaces. Additionally, the FTA will assist in installing fire alarm materials and components for other general building projects that are not necessarily related to elevator modernizations. A basic understanding of commercial fire alarm systems is preferred. · Electrical Install and Surveys– The FTA will be responsible for some select commercial electrical installations and surveying. The FTA will assist in the evaluation of the 3-phase power and line voltage switches and disconnects in relation to an elevator or motor. The FTA will also assist in creating a single line diagram depicting the electrical feed to an elevator or motor.· Professional Development – the FTA is responsible for studying and working towards a NICET 1 certification. Additionally, the FTA may participate in continued education opportunities maintaining expertise in NFPA 70 and 72 and working on attaining additional NICET and electrical certifications.· Vendor relationships and networking – the FTA is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with multiple vendors which 1Lift utilizes to perform the scope of work required on the projects that have been awarded within the region.· Customer relationships and networking – the FTA is responsible for developing and maintaining great working relationships with 1Lift’s customer Mechanics and Superintendents.· Physical Requirements – The FTA will be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, and crawl for prolonged periods time; talk or hear, both in person and by phone and/or computer; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up-to 100 pounds.
