Field Machining (FMS) Technician Level I is a 40-hour course that covers basic processes and equipment related to Field Machining. The individual can be employed with any contractor that performs Field Machining in any number of settings, i.e., power plants, refineries, pulp and paper.

The Field Machinist is responsible for the set up and operation of a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on-site machine work and repairs on location at client work sites.Primary role is to execute field machining operations in accordance with the approved site and company procedures.
