Candidates for this and every DoD SkillBridge internship opportunity with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are able to intern for 180, 120, and 90 days and MUST be at least 12 MONTHS away from (outside of) separation. Why 12 months? We are able to host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR actions to include getting them in front of hiring managers, having interviews conducted, selection decisions being made, “Qualifications Reviews” successfully completed on their resumes clearly demonstrating that they have the required experience, etc. for the positions for which they are being considered, along with a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MPA - Safety and Audits Awards CoordinatorReports to the Deputy Director of Safety and Risk Management. Serves as the MPA/PM in support of various safety and risk management related assessments/audits, awards, and events that will enhance AMO’s Safety Management System. Major duties of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to, the coordination, communication, execution, and results reporting of AMO’s Line Operations Safety Assessments (LOSA) and the General Services Administration’s Federal Aviation Safety Assessment (FASA) Program. Additional major duties will include the appropriate and timely recognition of notable employee actions and the development of submissions for safety awards/certificates internal to AMO, annual CBP Commissioners Awards, and external program nominations such as the annual FAA Safety Award and the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy (ICAP) Federal Aviation Awards.In this role, the incumbent will work closely with TSS leadership, appointed AMO field safety officers, and external points of contact to plan/coordinate the location, required travel guidance, and guest speakers (if applicable) for all safety and risk management related assessments, and ensure AMO leadership guidance is communicated to location leadership, safety representatives, and assessment participants.The incumbent will also be required to support all other administrative duties as assigned by the TSS leadership and provide the same audit coordination support to new initiatives as AMO’s Safety Management System matures.HOW TO APPLYEmail Jeffrey.R.Jack@cbp.dhs.gov with SUBJ: CBP – AMO Headquarters – Safety Audits and Awards Coordinator (MPA-0343-GS-12-13) – Washington, DC.
