DoW SkillBridge Internship CBP Technician (GS-5/6/7/8)U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Office of Field Operations (OFO)LOCATION:Long Beach (CA) IMPORTANT NOTEThis opportunity is OUTSIDE of USAJOBS and ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates who are AT LEAST 11 months AWAY from military separation to be considered and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active-duty.WHY 11 MONTHS?CBP can host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans, conducts, and assists with recruitment team efforts for Los Angeles Field Office (LAFO). Monitoring and providing responses to email correspondence related to recruitment program. Monitoring incoming phone calls to LAFO recruitment program. Responsible for recruitment program supplies and inventory. Supports recruitment team with set up/break down at offsite events.KSAs:Basic understanding or ability to interpret CBP Recruitment program directives/SOPs. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with both CBP and external stakeholders.
