Job description:
Program OverviewThis DoD SkillBridge opportunity places a transitioning service member with Stronghold Contracting Group's construction operations team for hands-on training in construction coordination. The participant learns the full rhythm of field project support, from scheduling crews and materials to coordinating between the field and the office and maintaining the documentation that keeps multi-site construction work on time and on budget. This is a training and mentorship experience designed to prepare the participant for a civilian construction operations career, not a production role.What You Will Learn and DoCoordinate daily field operations, including crew scheduling, material staging, and equipment readiness across active telecommunications and fiber construction sites.Serve as a communication link between field supervisors, project managers, and the office to keep projects aligned.Track project progress, milestones, and daily production reporting.Support permitting, utility locates, right of way, and inspection scheduling.Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination and documentation.Learn construction project documentation, including daily logs, progress billing support, and project close-out records.Build familiarity with jobsite safety expectations and OSHA compliance.Who This Is ForThis opportunity is a strong fit for transitioning service members with backgrounds in operations, logistics, engineering, construction, utilities, communications, or unit leadership. Combat engineers, construction and utilities specialists, logistics and operations personnel, and noncommissioned officers with planning and coordination experience are especially encouraged to apply. No civilian construction experience is required. We are looking for organized, dependable, and adaptable leaders who communicate well and take ownership of their work.Program DetailsLocation: Prattville, Alabama headquarters, with travel to active project sites across our operating footprint. Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record that meets company insurability standards, as this role includes travel to active jobsites.Willingness and ability to travel to and work at construction project sites across our multi-state operating footprint.Ability to pass a background check and a drug and alcohol screening in accordance with company policy and applicable federal contractor requirements.Ability to obtain jobsite or client facility access where required by contract.Ability to perform site visits on active construction sites, including walking uneven terrain and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals.Current DoD SkillBridge approval and command or unit authorization to participate, with a separation timeline that aligns with the program start window.
